I want to get a job in investment banking, but money is scarce for a private school, so I was thinking more along the lines of UCLA or Berkley (I reside in California). I want to get into investment banking, but I’m not sure if UCLA or Berkley are good enough to get me a job there. Can someone shed some light on that? Ideally, I’d like to work at JP Morgan and Chase; I have some contacts there who have quite a bit of longevity in the bank (one is the head of security, another worked for the former chairman and has been there for 38 years [charming lady]). Would those help any? Currently, I’m a senior in high school. Thank You.

Good Day! I’m currently a Filipino National. My Father filed a petition for me back in 1997 in the US (under F2A category – unmarried son of a legal permanent resident). However I turned 21 at that time, and I believe that your category will be changed automatically to F2B ( unmarried son of legal permanent resident whose 21 years old and above). In 2000, I got married but my father didnt inform INS about my status. Last year Feb, 2009, I received a packet from INS but didn’t respond to it as of this time. Do you have any information on what will happen to my case? Is there a possibility that my father can changed my status to F3 (married son of US citizen)?
Note: before I got married in 2000 my father became a US Citizen.

I’m going to close my account with them, but they have been so terrible it makes me angry to think they can get away with their practices. I try to keep to myself. I don’t like calling customer care, I really only call them if I REALLY have to. I put money in my account and use my debit card, that’s pretty much as far as our relationship goes. I don’t carry cash so it’s really only money goes in, money comes out.
But recently they’ve been pressing it. Last month I went to the ATM to deposit a check (because it was after hours) and my $1600 check went into the wrong account. I got my receipt and noticed the balance was off and then I noticed the last 4 digits of the card and account were not mine. Within one minute I was on the phone with them to correct the mistake. Whoever I talked to obviously couldn’t understand the severity of the situation (someone else was walking around with my money!) and treated me like I was insane for wanting to get my money back.
After some rankling she agreed to give me temp credit while it went to their “research” department. The next day there wasn’t a credit, so I called them. They informed me they didn’t think my claim was real and they decided not to credit me. So I went down to the branch to see if they could help me (afterall I deposited my check there and I had the receipt showing the account did not belong to me). When I got there they informed me I needed to contact customer service and sent me on my way. I called back CS and they informed there was nothing they could do, I had to speak to the branch. So I went back to the branch. I talked to one of those desk people and he told me it was my loss, there was nothing they could do, there was no way of retrieving it. He actually said this like I was just supposed to accept that my money was gone. I refused to budge. I had the receipt and there was no way I was going to let someone else get my money. They tried telling me there was nothing they could do, they couldn’t get into the ATM, they couldn’t retrieve my check and they couldn’t find out who the account belonged too. Yes, here I was holding a receipt with the last 4 digits of the person’s card and last 4 digits of their account number and Chase, keeper of the bank records, couldn’t even cross reference. How hard would it have been to look at the ATM records to see who used the machine at 6:07pm? How hard would have been to type in the last 4 of both the account and card and see if they matched anyone? Apparently Chase uses technology from the 50’s because according to them they do not have access to customer’s accounts. Finally after 30 minutes of the jerk at the branch telling me over and over again “tough” I got some Chase person on the phone to agree to put a temp credit in my account while they “looked into the matter”. The nerve of these people. I guess it’s a normal occurrence for people to hand their money over to people they don’t know? Yes, Chase I didn’t want that $1600 *eye roll*
I wrote customer care to give them a piece of my mind and report the matter but off course they ignored me. I have a family member who banks with Chase and he told me one time he went to the ATM and someone else’s account information was up. He said if he had wanted to he could have withdrawn money from that person’s account. Obviously Chase has shoddy ATM machines (nice try blaming it on me wankers).
Then came today. I deposited 2 checks totaling over $6000. One check was issued through Bank of America, the other through Chase. The teller at the drive thru took my money and didn’t say anything. No “these fund will be available this day”. My receipt didn’t say anything about availability (usually they hold checks for a certain period of time). I cashed the check before 7pm (at 2pm) so I figure it’s available now, because that’s how most banks work, you deposit money and they allow you access to your funds (unless it’s past 7 then you can’t have it until the next business day). I go out to eat, hand the waiter my card and he tells me I’m sorry you’re card has been declined. I’m absolutely mortified. I have no cash and I start panicking because I don’t know how I’m going to pay.
I call Chase to figure out what’s going on, they tell me I won’t have any money until 3-10 business days. 3-10 business days!?!?! Because that’s why people deposit money right, so they can NOT use it? I talk to one idiot, who passes me off to a manager, who passes me off to someone else who hangs up on me. Yes, instead of helping their customer, they just hang up on them when they’re not hearing what they want.

On March 23, 2010, GATA Director Adrian Douglas was contacted by a whistleblower by the name of Andrew Maguire. Maguire is a metals trader in London. He has been told first-hand by traders working for JPMorganChase that JPMorganChase manipulates the precious metals markets, and they have bragged to how they make money doing so.
In November 2009 Maguire contacted the CFTC enforcement division to report this criminal activity. He described in detail the way JPMorgan Chase signals to the market its intention to take down the precious metals. Traders recognize these signals and make money shorting the metals alongside JPM. Maguire explained how there are routine market manipulations at the time of option expiry, non-farm payroll data releases, and COMEX contract rollover, as well as ad-hoc events.
On February 3 Maguire gave two days’ warning by e-mail to Eliud Ramirez, a senior investigator for the CFTC’s Enforcement Division, that the precious metals would be attacked upon the release of the non-farm payroll data on February 5. On February 5, as market events played out exactly as predicted, further e-mails were sent to Ramirez while the manipulation was in progress.
It would not be possible to predict such a market move unless the market was manipulated.
Maguire sent Ramirez e-mails throughout the day detailing the manipulation in real time. After the final e-mail, Ramierez responded with
“I have received and reviewed your email communications. Thank you so very much for your observations.”
and to my knowledge, not much has been done since.
Investigations have been opened – months ago – but there is little hope that JP Morgan will be punished.
Even if JP Morgan is punished – they have made billions on these manipulations – does anyone believe the punishment will fit the crime?

If so, I need some suggestions on a wedding officiant. I am getting married this July and am having an outdoor ceremony. So, I am looking to have a quick simple civil ceremony. For the past few months I’ve had a hard time finding a JP. They are all Ministers that want to charge me between $500 and $600. I’m not paying that much money for a quick 20 minute ceremony.
